Summit County Republican Women's Mission

Members of our grassroots organization welcome you to join us in Summit County as we fulfill our mission to “build relationships among like-minded women and strengthen our knowledge of Colorado politics.”

A friendly, conservative, outgoing group of women, we are dedicated to serving our country and the local community. Through our meetings, events, affiliations, and website, we are a resource of information that is often difficult to find in mainstream media. We also offer opportunities to develop meaningful friendships in our beautiful mountain community. Like-minded men are welcome as Associate Members, too.

Elected & Appointed Officers

President - Tess Scalise

Tess is a lifelong Republican and patriot.  She served three years on active duty and six years in the Army reserves with temporary duty assignments in Panama and Germany.  Tess has nearly 30 years in executive management in the real estate industry, as vice president, president and chief operating officer, with local and global franchise brands.  She is currently a licensed broker with RE/MAX Properties of the Summit in Frisco.    Tess and her husband, Tony, love all things Summit County. They have a sailboat on Lake Dillon, for which Captain Tony is a skilled pilot. They love to ski, hike, bike, eat, drink and be merry.  Tess is active in the community and volunteers for the Dillon Community Church food bank and frequently runs the media slides for church messages. She also embraces the Freedom for Summit (CT3) network of local patriots and is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Denver.  Tess is honored to be the president of Summit County Republican Women.

Vice President - Dawn Masters

Dawn Masters moved to Colorado from Wisconsin in January of 1997, the day the Packers won the Super Bowl. (They lost to the Broncos the following year).  Dawn was raised in a conservative Christian Republican house-hold, but she developed an interest in politics late in life when she started paying attention to her rising taxes under Obama. Dawn and her husband, Bret, became weekend residents of Summit County in 2001 to enjoy weekend skiing and avoid weekend traffic while having a nice place to stay and have their friends come to visit.  The whole family became full-time residents in 2017 so their son, Gavin, could participate in the Team Summit Academic Athlete program.  Her son is now an avid whitewater kayaker, and the whole family has loved traveling the state to many beautiful places and cute towns to support Gavin's kayaking. Dawn joined the Summit County Republican Women to make friends with like-minded women in the county. She is enjoying learning more about the political system through her participation as a precinct chair and Summit County Delegate in addition to attending local Summit County Republican Women and GOP meetings when her work schedule allows.

Secretary - Kim Platt

Kim Platt moved to Summit County in 2018 from Boulder. She brings a wealth of information and experience from the Boulder County Republican Women. Kim is a member of The Well Armed Woman and can often be found up at the local shooting range. She is married 28 years with 2 adult daughters who live in Denver and a son who attends Summit High and is on the Team Summit  Park and Pipe team.

Treasurer - Barb Tabb

Proud Colorado native and skier/ hiker enthusiast. Barb is married to  Mike Tabb, chairman of Summit GOP.  With their crazy dog, Izzy,  Barb and Mike frolic around our magnificent country enjoying life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness!  Please contact Barb at barbtabb@comcast.net.
